Junlin french pricking irons reverse - I have been searching the forum trying to figure out how to "polish" pricking irons. Some of the irons I have from Osborne and Joseph Dixon are a bit rough, and I would like to know an efficient way to get in between all of the teeth. The metal is pretty hard on some, I believe the Osborne irons are drop forged.

Place the first tooth of the pricking iron off of the edge of the leather. Align the midpoint of each tooth on the center of the guideline. Tap the iron to create the hole. Remove the iron. Place the first two teeth in the last two created holes. Tap the iron, remove and repeat.

I use the 4mm irons paired with 0.4mm thread in most cases.
